Day 2 Vacation - September 2nd

We finally arrive Destin! Hello Destin Florida!

When we finally get to Destin, we headed by Walmartto first pick up all the food for the condo. I was determined to make breakfast and lunch in and then we would only eat out once a day. First day off to the beach.... Kids loved it and I sat in the chair and thought... this is not the Destin I remember from 8 years ago. Where is the pretty green water and what are these sea creatures washing up on shore (later found out they were slugs!) So we called it a day and headed in for a rest before we headed to Harborwalk Village for dinner and fireworks. Dinner was at AJ's Seafood Bar & Grill. For the fireworks we had the best seat in the house. They were awesome!

Day 1 Vacation ~ Destin 2010

I picked the kids up early from school today unexpected and told them we had an appointment. They both believed it to be with the doctor for a sonogram. It wasn't until we pulled into Park N Fly that I announced the appointment was with American Airlines as we were going on vacation. They did not beleive me until the shuttle pulled up behind the car to get the luggage which was revealed under the blanket in the back of the car.

Of course we arrived in plenty of time for our flight and then found out that the flight had been cancelled. We had to take another flight but to Mobile, AL and then drive the 2 hours to Destin, FL..

They did love the plane ride and were both a bit anxious.... and it was cute as Justin pulled out his safety briefing card and followed along..

Day one day... all is well.

Destin 2010

What a great trip! I took the kids to Destin, Florida to celebrate Labor Day weekend and we had a wonderful time. Some much needed mommy and kids time. We enjoyed the beach, played in the sand, built sand castles, went on a dolphin cruise, tackled deep sea fshing (yes 5 1/2 months pregnant), and watched a great sunset! Couldn't have asked for better weather! Here is a picture .. I'll upload more soon!

Mommy's Surprise Party!

What a surprise was waiting for me when I got home tonight. My wonderful husband and children worked hard on decorating the house for my birthday and picking out perfect presents. And they served me dinner and picked out the cake that had "me" written all over it.
Chris bought me a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet and the kids gave me gift cards to Olive Garden, Starbucks and ITunes.... Mary gave me a gift certificate to Pier One. Can't wait to go shopping for the new house. 41 is off to a great start thanks to my wonderful husband and family!

That Special Friend!

You know sometimes in life you actually do have that special friend that is there for you no matter what. That is my Marci. Marci and I have been the best of friends since we were little girls. It started out when we were taking twirling lessons together and traveling to lessons and competitions together on the weekends., along with our sisters and mothers. We became family. She is just a few years older than me but I always looked up to her and still do.

Not an event in my life has gone by that she wasn't there for me for,..... always standing there strong and determined (she got those qualities from her mom, Linda whom I loved dearly!)

You know you hear about those friends that come into your life for a season.... Marci came into my life for reason and a lifetime. She is the one that I know will be there to hold my hand during good times, hard times, funny times, sad times, and will be there to hold my hand during my final times.

Marci has remembered my birthday every year and always surprises me with the most beautiful flowers. I'm the luckiest friend in the world to call her my best friend!

Another Room Bites the Dust!!!!!

Ahhh..... we completed a double wammie tonight with finish unpacking the formal dining and living room. Couple finishing touches to go is to hang "The Lords Supper" picture on the wall painted the deep red/ merlot color. And to also put the doors back on the entertainment center in the living room. And when Mary gets to feeling better she is going to make drapes for the windows that are bare now! But it's starting to come together. This weekend we are going to tackle the 100's of boxes in the craft room. That's where we have beens storing them all for now. But again, it's starting to feel like home to us!

First Project off Honey Do List

You know the best thing about being married to a man who has 22 years experience with home remodels..... he knows what he is doing and he does it well. And that's not to mention that he is very handsome when he works!

First project completed!!!!

While I was on bedrest (due to complications with pregnancy... all better now) Chris worked very hard to completely redo the powder bath downstairs. I did get to pick the color so I get a little credit, but he did all the work (Justin was his helper too!)

It looks great. From painting to replacing the light to hanging a new towel rack, to finding just the right mirror and then the finishing touches. And he even added in some leopard just for me! :-)
